| A quick joke aimed to offend all the women in the audience, and Arab Strap began playing. You gotta love someone who doesn't choose to sing in an American accent even though they're not American, and Aidan Moffat is one of the most identifiable people to do this (it's either him, or Neil from Ricaine). Check out his vocals on the last track of Reindeer Section's most recent one Son of Evil Reindeer. Delightful. | ||

The gig was all a pretty laid back affair; offensive jokes, forgotten lyrics, just some good music with your mates. Ruined - ruined, I tell you - by the amount of smoke in the room. Being a non-smoking asthmatic, I absolutely hate a smoky venue. Let me go so far as to say that I hate smokers. Yes, you heard me. When I am still coughing three days after the show, that's just crap. I admit that I was standing right next to a chain smoker, and I did choose to keep standing next to him, which was probably a bad move. But I shouldn't have to move just because of the guy next to me. Plus, I could take some nice not-obscured-by-people's-heads photos in that spot, which I couldn't have if I'd moved. Anyway, more of that in my rant at funkwit. | ||

P.S. the anti-vandalism billboard has been vandalised. There goes that plan.
P.P.S. here is a discussion on plastic about Tetris, which, being nerd-like, I found interesting. The bits about figuring out whether Tetris is NP-Complete are interesting, but even moreso are the discussions about male versus female and game-playing.
P.P.P.S. I can kick anyone's ass at Tetris.
