Inspiration: Coding a comments feature for this site

I write code for a living. Some days, I enjoy it. Some days, I don't. Whether it's the former or the latter has a lot to do with whether or not I'm interested in what I'm doing. If I spent day after day coding some kind of esoteric accounting system in COBOL, I'd be the unhappiest person on the planet. But if I'm writing a commenting system for my site, and figuring out how to make it juuust perfect, so that it's easy to use, looks pretty snazzy, and works, then I'm like a pig rollin' in the mud.

And that's what I've spent the last few evenings doing. And today, after a bit of collaborative coding with Paul, it's all ready to go! Oh, the sweet smell of success. *toot toot* - that's the sound of me tooting my own horn.

And now, for absolutely no reason at all, here's a photo of Franklin, today, sitting on my arm, just before being fed a whole bunch of worms:

P.S. a big round of applause to jud for getting justinmckinlay.com live, finally.

Watching: Futurama
"Wouldn't it make more sense to weld everyone except me to the wall?"
It may not be ratings season, but 7 are showing brand new Futurama - you can't go wrong.

Nice comments. I particularly like the regular expression replacing you use to filter the HTML. Whoever did that: pure genius.

Commenting has been turned off because of my inability to cope with the ridiculous amount of spammage I was receiving. Sorry!
