Non-probationary, period.
Inspiration: Getting off my P-plates Created: Sun 27 Apr 2003 23:00 View in current style Permalink Yesterday was the last day of my probationary period as a driver. Today, although I have not driven anywhere, is my first day as a fully licenced driver. This brings with it a number of delightful benefits:
- no high powered vehicle restriction
this will obviously come in very handy for me, as I start hooning down Chapel Street in some car or other with a power to weight ratio greater than 125 kilowatts per tonne (or possibly one with a capacity to weight ratio of more than 3.5 litres per tonne - I haven't really decided yet)
- no automatic transmission restriction
yup - the only thing that's been holding me back from getting out on the open road in a manual car is the fact that my probationary licence wouldn't allow it. The fact that I don't know how to drive a manual has nothing whatsoever to do with it
- no more displaying P-plates

- the zero alcohol limit (0.00%) changes to less than 0.05%
now I can have a gemin of alcoholic beverage with dinner, and I'm still allowed to drive home!
- now I can teach others to drive
watch out Melbourne, because Jud will be on the road before you know it
- a brand new licence, with up-to-date photo
oooh, blue instead of red, and head in the upright position rather than tilted to the side
