Interpol's preparations for last night's gig must have been tough, as always. I mean, not only did they each have to decide on a shirt/tie combination ("Hmmm, the red shirt with the black tie, or the black shirt with the red tie? Or maybe the black shirt with the black tie tonight. One thing's for sure, it definitely won't be the red shirt with the red tie.", "Did I just hear you consider a red shirt with a red tie? Oh please do stop, Mr Funny Man."), but there's also the optional jacket to think about, and the hair to coif.

There it is - I've captured a gig kiss Rawk
They didn't spend too much time on stage (one album's worth of songs plus a couple of hanger's on, and that's the entire repertoire, it seems), but while they were there, they oozed New York city cool. In fact, so much so, that on the way out, I heard one of the corner hotel bar people saying to another: "Great. This cool is going to take hours to mop up".

Audience stereotype spotted: the jabber. After manipulating my way through the sold-out crowd to get to somewhere where I could actually see what was going on, the guy who I eventually chose to stand in front of spent the most of the rest of the show jabbing me in the back with his elbow at two minute intervals. He did this to indicate his displeasure that I had chosen to stand right in front of him. Never mind the fact that his line of sight was at least ten centimetres above the top of my head. I tell you, it was nearly a case of gig rage on my part, but I eventually spotted an opening to my left and moved away from the jabber instead of exploding.
